Hi,

My name is Karlie Burr, and I am a 14-year-old competitive gymnast. I currently train at JAG in Wallingford, Connecticut, and compete as a Level 7 in the USA Gymnastics Development Program. This past season, I became the Connecticut State Champion on floor and vault, and I have qualified for Regionals for the 2026 season.

I am writing to respectfully ask for sponsorship, grants, or donations to help support my gymnastics journey for the upcoming season.

I began gymnastics in 2016 with a tumbling class and quickly fell in love with the sport. From there, I progressed through recreational programs before becoming a competitive gymnast. Early in my career, I found success as a Level 3, earning multiple first-place All-Around finishes with a personal best score of 38.050. Level 4 presented challenges, especially during COVID, and I eventually took time off due to an injury.

During my time away, I tried other sports, but nothing compared to gymnastics. I knew my heart belonged in the gym, so I returned stronger and more determined than ever. I joined JAG with a new team, new coaches, and a fresh start. Despite the challenges, I had an incredible comeback season. I earned multiple first-place finishes, became a Connecticut State All-Around Champion, and a Regional All-Around Champion. I also achieved personal bests, including a 9.825 on beam and a 38.474 All-Around score, and ranked among the top 100 gymnasts in the nation twice.

This current season has helped me grow even more—not just as an athlete, but as a person. I faced one of my biggest fears during a meet when I fell on a high bar skill. Despite the fear and pain, I got back up and completed my routine. That moment taught me resilience and determination. I went on to win first place All-Around at that meet. This season, I also set a new personal record on floor with a 9.775 at States and earned the Connecticut State titles on floor and vault, along with another Regional qualification.

Behind all of my accomplishments is my mom, who supports me every step of the way. She is my biggest fan and works two jobs as a single parent to make my gymnastics dreams possible. We have overcome many challenges together, including her battle with breast cancer in 2018. She is the strongest person I know, and I am incredibly grateful for everything she does for me.

That is why I am reaching out for support. Gymnastics is a year-round commitment, and expenses include tuition, competition fees, travel, leotards, and training gear. Any financial assistance would help ease the burden on my mom and allow me to continue pursuing my goals.

I am currently training hard and working on new skills for the 2026–2027 season. I am excited for what lies ahead and motivated to keep improving. With your support, I can continue to grow, compete, and achieve my dreams.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter and consider supporting me.

Sincerely,

Karlie Burr
